“The more we are committed to believing that something is true, the less likely we are to believe that its opposite is true, even in the face of clear evidence that shows we are wrong.” Marshall Goldsmith (What Got You Here, Won't Get You There). I am a people engineer, cognitive researcher, long-life learner. My core mission is to enable people to create successful change in their life, their work, and their organizations so that together we can create more meaning, more value, a better future. My focus is agile and technology dominant environments as those evolve faster than we, humans, can often adapt to. When I was eight years old, I got fascinated by all the possibilities technology brings to our life. I started my career as a developer since I wanted to build solutions that shape our future. Thus, during the first decade of my career, I worked in diverse roles, company sizes, industries, teams, and countries, challenging others to build digital solutions that matter. It takes a team to do that. We live in an extremely versatile time and it is not going to settle anytime soon. Technology evolvement continually challenges the way we do business, interact with each other and learn new things. Operating in the digital wild-west requires high creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, and diversity of perspectives to solve problems we never addressed before. That leads to more and more businesses, across all industries, continuously having to reinvent themselves and scale up their operations rapidly to remain relevant in tomorrow's consumer's heart. On the way, we tend to forget our people's heart. Many organizations crash diet their people while they transform their ways of working, triple the size of their company and change their long-term strategy and vision. It is exciting, painful and extremely complex. Good luck! Change can feel confusing and overwhelming. Most leaders are not equipped. If it's your reality, it doesn't have to be. Let's talk.
What initiated your most recent transformation? Was it your CEO, your CHRO or Covid? We’ve all learnt a lot about our organisations during these incredible times of change but are we truly asking the right questions during times of change? It’s never the lack of process that makes a transformation fail, it’s the lack of human interaction. Organisations aspire to be agile and aim for operational excellence but a process solves nothings unless your people have the right mindsets, and they know what is expected of them to do. Bar brings a wealth of leadership experience from start up to scale up organisations and will bring the basics back to your transformation journey by simply asking what are you trying to achieve as an organisation?
